Readers,
I would like to apologize about the fact that I have not posted in ages! Since our class has finished the Fourteenth Goldfish, I have been racking my mind of what to post next. After tons of thinking, I have decided to just talk about what is going on in my English class, and hopefully you will be able to relate this to yours. If you can, please comment.
So, we have now started a new read allowed, called Out of My Mind. This is one of my all time favorite books and this will now be my second time reading it. My class is well into the book and will hopefully finish soon. We are also reading Wind in the Willows. We will be required to write an analytical essay about it when we are finished. An analytical essay is an essay with a bunch of complicated steps that you must follow. These include the hook, link, thesis, bridge, claim, evidence, quote, explanation, set up and summary to top it off. (not necessarily in order) We have been assigned a prompt and we are required to look for evidence to support our claim, as we read. In addition, we are learning about literary devices and have been reading some really cool poems. Plus we are learning Latin stems and we know over 200 of them.
